Content Manager OnDemand V9.5 and later client installation changes

Question & Answer

Question

What changes have been made to the installation process of the OnDemand Administrator and OnDemand Client for version 9.5 and later?

Answer

When the Content Manager OnDemand clients for version 9.5 or later are installed, all languages are included. A Windows Start menu shortcut is created for each of the OnDemand Client Vx.y, the OnDemand Administrator Vx.y, and the OnDemand Monitor Vx.y, depending on which ones you select to install. Each of the clients will be launched using the language for the current locale of the workstation on which it is installed. For example, if the current locale is English, the English language interface will be used.

To override this default setting or to create additional menu shortcuts for other languages, the Client Language (/L) parameter can be used. For example, to modify an existing menu shortcut to launch a German version of one of the clients, right click on the menu shortcut, and select Properties. In the Target field, append /L DEU to the end of the current contents of the field. Be sure to leave a space before /L. Click OK to save the changed menu shortcut.

Click the first link under the Related Information heading for a complete list of language IDs supported by Content Manager OnDemand. If you use a language ID that is not listed, the English language client will be launched.

For more information about the command line parameters used by the clients, see the Content Manager OnDemand Windows Client Customization Guide available at the second link provided under the Related information heading.
