Question

Collecting data for Purchase Requisition problems with Maximo. Gathering this information before calling IBM support will help you with the troubleshooting process and save time analyzing the data.

Answer

This technote describes what information you need to begin troubleshooting a Maximo Purchase Requisition (PR) issue.

If you have not compiled the General information, Please see General Collecting Data document 1313647 and include that information.

Collecting MustGather data early, even before opening the PMR, helps IBM Support quickly determine if:

Symptoms match known problems (rediscovery).
There is a non-defect problem that can be identified and resolved.
There is a defect that identifies a work-around to reduce severity.
Locating root cause can speed development of a code fix.

For all Maximo Purchase Requisition related issues the following questions should be answered and then compiled. This info should then be provided to IBM Maximo Support:

1. Please provide your Maximo environment information (e.g. Maximo version and patch level; J2EE Server and Database). You can find this information in Maximo Start Center, Help -- System Information.

2. What Is the problem that you are having? Please provide the issue details.

3. Can you reproduce the issue? If yes, please provide steps for how to reproduce the issue (step by step). If possible, please send screen shots to explain the issue.

4. Is there an error message being displayed in the PR application? If so, what is the message?

5. Does this issue occur to some users only or does it occur to all users?

6. Have you changed anything in Maximo just before this issue occurs?

7. Have you added any customization (e.g. added/modified Java classes) in the PR application? If yes, please provide the details.

8. Please send IBM Maximo Support the maximo.log, systemout.log and systemerr.log files with debug information of the issue. (Please set the Logging levels in the Maximo Logging Application as follows: INFO for the sql logger and DEBUG for the PR application logger).

Please provide the PR details to IBM Maximo Support.
You can get the PR details by running the below queries on the database and copy the returned records in the Excel file with column headers:
