Traffic between Cast Iron Secure Connector and Cast Iron Live/Appliance protected

Question & Answer

Question

Is the traffic between Cast Iron Secure Connector and Cast Iron Live/Appliance protected?

Answer

Yes, the traffic between Cast Iron Secure Connector and Cast Iron Live/Appliance is secured. The communication is based on the standard SSL 128 bit encryption over HTTPS through port 443. When the Secure Connector starts up, it undergoes the SSL/TLS handshake and authenticates through standard X.509 certificates , then establishes a TLS encrypted tunnel if everything else succeeds. Secure Connector uses its own certificate.

At the server side (Cast Iron Live/Appliance), the gateway connects to Secure Connector using Cast Iron internal certificate.
