Maximo Hngs if You Associated a Job Plan With Many Tasks to Work Order

Problem

The Maximo application becomes unusable with large job plans being attached to work orders.

Symptom

When a job plan is put on a work order with a large number of existing tasks (700 for example) the Maximo UI becomes unresponsive after you try to save. You cannot click on any tabs and the GOTO menu in unusable.

When you put the job plan on the work order the waiting icon does not appear as well.

Resolving The Problem

Please check maxvar NESTEDJOBPLANS on the MAXVARS table.

For large job plans with nested job plans, you should try to apply the job plan in background mode by setting the maxvar NESTEDJOBPLANS to 1.

You can go to the Organizations application, "Work Order Options/Other Organization Options", and check "Process Nested Job Plan in Background".

The NESTEDJOBPLANS maxvar needs to be enabled in order to see any improvements when applying nested job plans.
