Abstract

Configuration Information for EMC Data Domain DD Series VTL

Content

Beginning with Version 7.1.3, IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager is now IBM Spectrum Protect™. Some applications such as the software fulfillment systems and IBM License Metric Tool use the new product name. However, the software and its product documentation continue to use the Tivoli Storage Manager product name. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see technote 1963634.

Notes: 

1. EMC Data Domain DD Series is a Virtual Tape Library ( VTL ) backup solution which emulates tape drive and tape autoloader devices. The emulated tape and autoloader devices can be backup targets for Tivoli Storage Manager.

2. The following library emulation mode are supported:

  • ADIC Scalar i2000
  • ADIC Scalar i6000
  • IBM TS3500 ( 03584L32 )
  • STK L180

3. The following read/write drive emulation mode are supported:
  • IBM LTO-1
  • IBM LTO-2
  • IBM LTO-3
  • IBM LTO-4
  • HP LTO-3
  • HP LTO-4

5. Barcodes are supported.
