Why does command DELETE SERVER SERVERNAME fail to remove the definition?

Cause

When running DELETE SERVER SERVERNAME, the command fails with the following:

ANR1664W DELETE SERVER: Server TSM is currently in use.
ANS8001I Return code 12.

This can occur if all other references to the server definition are not removed.

Answer

One possible reason is there may be a reference to the server name as a replication server. In order to resolve the problem, reset the replication server by entering the following command with no SERVERNAME included. The command is :

SET REPLSERVER

You will see: ANR1634I Default replication server name set to (None).
