Question
How do I edit the Cognos Metadata Information Service URI to use the new URL for InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog? This new URL replaces the URL for InfoSphere Metadata Workbench and for InfoSphere Business Glossary.
Cause
In InfoSphere Information Server, version 11.3, InfoSphere Metadata Workbench and InfoSphere Business Glossary are merged into a single product called InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog. As a result, you must edit the Cognos Metadata Information Service URI to use the new URL.
Network access must be available between the IBM Cognos server and the InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog server, as well as between the browser for the IBM Cognos product and the InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog server.

<igc_server> is the name or IP address of the physical machine where InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog is installed.
<cognos_name> is the name of the physical machine where Cognos has been installed. Typically this is the server name that is referenced in the URL for Cognos Application Server.
In InfoSphere Governance Catalog, <cognos_name> is displayed as a BI server asset.
For Cognos 10.x, follow the instructions in the chapter "Configure the IBM InfoSphere Business Glossary URI".
In step 5, type the string: http://<bg_server>:9080/bg/popup/popupSearch.do
This string opens the InfoSphere Business Glossary Search page.
To open InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog, version 11.3 or later
For Cognos 10.x, follow the instructions in the chapter "Configure the IBM InfoSphere Business Glossary URI".
In step 5, type the string: https://<igc_server>:port/ibm/iis/igc/popup/popupSearch.do?exactMatch=1
