An announcement has been made that extended support for Rational Synergy 7.1.x and 7.1a will no longer be offered after April 30, 2015. You can find the announcement here: Software withdrawal and end of service: IBM Rational selected products
You can also find the status of the product versions in the Rational Software Support Lifecycle site.
Information on updating away from this version can be found in the Rational Synergy Knowledge Center for the version to which you want to upgrade. Here is a link to the Updating Software topic for version 7.2:
