Troubleshooting
Problem
When an IBM InfoSphere Information Server engine tier is running on a Windows Server 2012 system an attempt to schedule a job using Director->Job->AddToSchedule fails with the following message: Error adding to schedule: The AT command has been deprecated. Please use schtasks.exe instead.
Cause
This issue is due to the withdrawal of the AT command on Windows Server 2012.
The DataStage scheduler on Windows was designed and written to use the AT command.
Environment
IBM InfoSphere Information Server versions 9.1.x and 11.3.x releases running on Windows Server 2012 are impacted by this issue.
Diagnosing The Problem
On Windows 2012, any attempt to schedule a job using Director->Job->AddToSchedule fails with the message quoted above.
On non-English language systems the message text might have been translated.
Resolving The Problem
For Information Server DataStage 9.1.2, 11.3 and 11.3.1, an enhancement to add support for the Windows 2012 scheduler is available for delivery via patch JR51153. This patch has been placed on our Fix Central download page.
For all versions, alternatives to using the InfoSphere DataStage scheduler on a Windows 2012 platform include:
• Schedule jobs by calling the dsjob command line interface either through the Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler graphical user interface or by using the Windows SCHTASKS command directly.
• Schedule jobs by calling dsjob from a third-party scheduling tool.
Other alternatives include:
• Deploy the IBM InfoSphere Information Server engine tier on a Windows 2008 system, where the AT command is still available.
