Question
For different devices, multiple nodes are showing with same node name in TEPS view. Only one of which reports activity. How can it be fixed to show it's unique node names ?
Cause
Mostly, it is caused by too long host names, long and same starting server names.
Answer
1. Locate KD4.dc.properties file from directory (windows: <ITM_HOME>\TMAITM6\KD4\config, unix: <ITM_HOME>/<platform>/d4/KD4/config).
2. Change kd4.ira.useCTIRAHostname=0 to 1.
3. Change the Hostname to shorter name, using the "Instruction A" below.

FYI : If you have only 1 node under SMAE (Serives Management Agent Environment), you would not be able to see the changed names(even after follow all 4 steps above). In order to check the changed name(s), you need at least 2 node entries to check the names (see screenshots for your reference).
- Only 1 node under SMAE, no name shows.
- Multiple node under SMAE, it shows names.
Instruction A :
Windows :
a. Open MTEMS (Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services).
b. Click right mouse button on "SOA Agent". (this is to stop SOA Agent).
c. Click "Advanced" -> "Edit Variables"
d. The screen will show as below. Choose CTIRA_HOSTNAME, and click "Edit" as shown.
e. Follow screen will pop up. Change the value to shorter hostname and click "OK".
UNIX:
1. Open file : /opt/IBM/ITM/config/d4.ini
2. Locate following entry and change the <hostname> to shorter host name. (If the CTIRA_HOSTNAME is not found, create one)
CTIRA_HOSTNAME=<hostname>
