Security report for Decision Center projects

Question & Answer

Question

Do you know if security is enabled on your projects? Do you know which groups can access which branches? If you handle numerous projects and branches this tool should help you manage security.

Cause

Security in Decision Center is enabled at the branch level. Managing security can be difficult when you have many branches.

Answer

This ant task generates a graphical report that shows the state of all the branches for each project in the repository.

For example, in the project miniloan-rules, the branch represented in red does not have security enabled.

The branch , represented in green, has security enabled. If you hover your mouse over the node, the groups authorized are displayed in a tooltip.

The branch , represented in orange, inherits security from its parent.

Installation

Copy the 2 files below in the folder ODM_HOME/teamserver/bin

securityReport.jarsecurityReport.jarreportBuild.xmlreportBuild.xml

Usage

To generate the report, run the script with ant

..\..\shared\tools\ant\bin\ant -f reportBuild.xml

The report is generated at the same location in the file securityReport.xml. Use your Web browser to view it.

Note: The parameters server.url, rtsAdmin.login, rtsAdmin.password, and datasourceName are defined by default in the file teamserver-anttasks.properties and can be modified as needed.
