ASN0575E MQRC_STORAGE_MEDIUM_FULL for the restart queue is received by InfoSphere Q Capture

Troubleshooting

Problem

InfoSphere Replication Server Q Capture reports that the page set is full for the RESTARTQ used by Q Capture.

Symptom

ASN0575E  "Q Capture" : "QASN" : "WorkerThread" : The program encountered a WebSphere MQ error "2192 (MQRC_STORAGE_MEDIUM_FULL)" while issuing the WebSphere MQ command "MQPUT" on object "QASN.DB2T.RESTART".

Cause

Q Capture uses the RESTARTQ to store the location within the DB2 logs where changes have been successfully captured. This information, which is used during a restart due to a stop or failure, is constantly updated. It is critical that the updates are successful.

Resolving The Problem

Place the Q Capture restart queue on a separate page set. Do this by specifying a non-default STGCLASS on the QLOCAL definition in WebSphere MQ.

As stated in technote 1586484, MAXDEPTH should be 1 for the restart queues. Because of this, you can put restart queues from other instances of Qcapture on the same pageset since they will not inadvertently fill up the space.
