ncp_model fails to start

Problem

Ncp_model process will not start with the following error listed in the ncp_model.log: 2013-10-18T12:35:08: Fatal: F-RIV-002-208: [34655088t] CMdlCore.cc(214) Exit function called Failed to connect to database

Cause

The user and/or password specified in $NCHOME/etc/precision/DbLogins.cfg to connect to ncim db is not correct.

Resolving The Problem

Verify the correct user id and/or password in DbLogins.cfg is able to connect to ncim db from the command prompt and then edit the file accordingly.
In this case the ncim password was not valid and the correct one was not known. User was able to use the db2 admin user and password to connect and subsequently added that in to DbLogins.cfg.
