Behavior of attributes of web type CCM_TOGGLE in a change request when Dynamic Required Attribute feature is enabled

Question & Answer

Question

What is the expected behavior of attributes of web type CCM_TOGGLE in a Change Request form when Dynamic Required Attribute feature is enabled in IBM Rational Change?

Cause

When dynamic required attribute feature is enabled, if no value is provided (check box is unselected), for attributes of web type CCM_TOGGLE, no alerts are displayed to the user about the empty values.

Answer

Any attribute of web type CCM_TOGGLE in Rational Change forms always has the default value as false.

This means that a value false is considered for all unselected or unspecified attributes with web type CCM_TOGGLE.

If Dynamic Required Attribute feature is enabled and any CCM_TOGGLE attribute is set as a dynamically defined required attribute, then when a form is submitted or saved there is no alert shown to the user about this attribute being empty. This is because the default value false is considered for this attribute.
