SCCD 7.5 - Maximo fixpack 7.1.1.7 installation failure

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempt to upgrade them to IBM SmartCloud Desktop (SCCD) version 7.5 with IBM Deployment Engine (DE) fails. The upgrade path is from 7.1.1.5 to 7.1.1.7, which is part of the minimum requirements

Symptom

The process is the following:

1. Run the install.exe file for the 7.1.1.7 fixpack.
2. Walk through the install wizard
3. Defer the database update and the EAR deploy
4. Starts the installation and go to step 9 of 10.

Then, you'll get the following message:

Diagnosing The Problem

Review CTGInstallMessage00.log file and you'll find the following error:

Resolving The Problem

It is a known DE issue and we have a DE utility to resolve this issue.

1. Download Re-registerCollectorsPatch.zip from link below and extract it

2. Open command prompt and go to patch extracted location
3. Run reRegisterCollectors.cmd
4. Re-try fixpack 7.1.1.7 installation again
