Can I use DataStage Administrator for SAP interchangeably among the Packs for SAP ( IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP R/3, IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP BW, and IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP Applications)?

Answer

Up to and including IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP R/3 version 6.5.0.2 and IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP BW version 4.3.2.1, DataStage Administrator for SAP is a common application, and is shared by the two products. DataStage Administrator for SAP can display and edit connections for both IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP R/3 and IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP BW, as shown in the screenshot below:


Starting with IBM InfoSphere Information Server Pack for SAP Applications 7.0, the DataStage Administrator for SAP is specific to a Pack. It can only display and edit the type of connection relevant to the specific Pack , as shown in the screenshot below:
