Problem

SCANDIR statement with CATALOG gets abend S0C4 - 11

Symptom

SCANDIR without CATALOG scan inquisitor runs correctly with RC 00

Diagnosing The Problem

Abend occurs when a PDS is processed AND the returned DESERV data fits neatly into an integral number of pages AND the last member returned is not a program AND the last member returned has user data which indicates that at least one NOTE list TTR is present AND the next page contains no GETMAINed area. When all of these conditions are met a S0C4-11 abend will occur.

Resolving The Problem

Apply PTF UA70099.

Short-term circumvention is to exclude the data set from the scan using the XDA operand of SCANDIR.
