Question & Answer
Question
What do I do if I lost the accessmgr password?
Answer
Log on the the CLI and run the following command:
- support reset-password accessmgr <N>|random
You may use <N> or random where <N> is the number in range of 10000000 to 99999999 and random will automatically generate random number in range of 10000000 to 99999999.
the output will be similar to this:
- G82.ibm.com> support reset-password accessmgr random
Password for accessmgr account have been successfully reset using keyword: <passkey>
Please provide these number to Guardium Customer Service
to receive actual account password.
ok
Open a PMR with IBM Guardium support and send this output, a Guardium engineer will translate the passkey into the actual accessmgr password and send this information to you.
Once you have received the new password you will need t o
- use the following cli command to unlock the account
- log in as accessmgr and edit the accessmgr details to enter a temporary password
- log in again with that temporary password - you should be prompted to enter another new password that you wish to use from then on
- unlock accessmgr
- If this is on a Central Manager (CM) machine then the new details can be sent to the other MUs (Managed Units) as follows :
- log into the GUI as user admin
- Administration Console -> Central Management -> Portal User Sync -> Run Once Now
Please allow up to an hour for the synchronization to the other units to take place.
