Problem
The following error is seen in the agent instance log in $ITMHOME/logs: critical: Database Connection Error: [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver][Informix]Cannot connect to database server (SQL-08004) at /opt/IBM/ITM/sol286/np/bin/getPolldata.pl line 187
Resolving The Problem
The ITM agent for ITNM uses the $NCHOME/etc/precision/DbLogins.DOMAIN.cfg file to find the password to access the ITNM ncim database. The agent uses getPolldata.pl for this access. Check the password and encryption in DbLogins, under the POLLDATA section.
Use the ncp_db_access.pl script noted in the 'Related URL' section to test connectivity to the database if any changes are made.
