Is it possible to block certain groups from accessing documents in a certain doctype folder?
Answer
Create a condition using Conditional Expression Manager with a condition based on the doctype.
To restrict a folder or doctype called DOCS the expression would be DOCTYPE = 'DOCS'
Set the condition name and description and save.
In Security Groups, select the group you want to restrict the folder from.
Select the Data Restrictions tab, Object tab and select New Row.
Select the DOCLINKS object, set the restriction Type to HIDDEN and associate your condition from the previous step.
Save
When a user belonging to that group signs into Maximo after any active sessions have ended from prior to this change, the user will see the information for documents from that folder are blocked and cannot be selected.
