Application startup fails when WebSphere Process Server (WPS) uses an Oracle database

Troubleshooting

Problem

You receive an application startup failure message when WebSphere Process Server uses an Oracle database.

Symptom

The error message contains "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL".

Resolving The Problem

A throw activity that is defined in WebSphere Integration Developer V6.1 or later releases can cause an application startup failure when WebSphere Process Server uses an Oracle database. To resolve this problem, see The fault name and namespace are not pre-populated when you create a throw activity.
