Problems publishing a cube package from IBM Business Monitor to IBM Cognos Business Intelligence when using a SQL Server database

Troubleshooting


Problem

You cannot publish a cube package to the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence server either during monitor model deployment or manually using the WebSphere administrative console Manage Cognos cubes page.

Cause

As of version 7.5.1.1, IBM Business Monitor uses the IBM Cognos Dynamic Query mode to publish a cube package to the IBM Cognos service. You must turn off Dynamic Query mode to successfully publish the cube package.

Diagnosing The Problem

The following error is reported:

CWMTC2210E: It was not possible to create the Cognos cube because the following error occurred: BMT-MD-5002 The object 'DIM_TIME' of type 'table or view' does not exist in the data source.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this problem, turn off Dynamic Query mode so that IBM Business Monitor uses compatible mode when the cube is published.

  1. From the WebSphere administrative console, click Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
  2. Click the name of your server.
  3. Expand Java™ and Process Management and select Process definition.
  4. Under Additional Properties, click Java Virtual Machine.
  5. Scroll down to the Generic JVM arguments text box.
  6. Add -Dinit.dqm.enabled=false
  7. Click OK.
