WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) V7.0.0.4 with non-English language installed and shell-shares with Rational Application Developer (RAD) V7.5.5.4 encounters error during WebSphere Integration Developer V7.0.0.5 upgrade

Troubleshooting

Problem

In an environment of WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) V7.0.0.4 Fixpack or V7.0.0.4 Interim Fix 001 with non-English language installed and shell-shares with Rational Application Developer (RAD) V7.5.5.4, when user upgrades to WID V7.0.0.5 Fixpack, an error is emitted during the upgrade from Installation Manager.

Symptom

The following error is emitted during the upgrade from Installation Manager:

"Error during "complete" phase:
CRIMA1082E: The bundle "com.ibm.ws.ast.wsfp.annotations.processor.nl1_1.1.4.v201110131409" cannot be installed in this Eclipse configuration because it is not equivalent to the bundle "com.ibm.ws.ast.wsfp.annotations.processor.nl1_1.0.103.v20100710_0411" that is already installed."

User will still have WID V7.0.0.4 after the failed upgrade.

There are 2 workarounds
1) Upgrade from RAD V7.5.5.4 to RAD V7.5.5.5 first, then upgrade from WID V7.0.0.4 to WID V7.0.0.5, or
2) Upgrade to both RAD V7.5.5.5 and WID V7.0.0.5 simultaneously.

Cause

This is caused by a problem with how the above bundle is being installed by RAD V7.5.5.4.

Resolving The Problem

Users can either upgrade from RAD V7.5.5.4 to RAD V7.5.5.5 first, then apply the WID V7.0.0.5 upgrade, or upgrade to both RAD V7.5.5.5 and WID V7.0.0.5 simultaneously.
