Content

By default, the Project options are disabled.

Enabling the Project options

To enable the Project options, a Windows user with administrative permissions must modify the registry on the computer where the Rational RequisitePro client for Windows is installed by creating a new string value "RqOptions" on the following registry key:

On a 32-bit version of Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Rational Software\RequisitePro

On a 64-bit version of Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Rational Software\RequisitePro

After the String value "RqOptions" is created, assign a value based on the options to be enabled.

Available options

Value
Option
1
Store a new project revision when a document is deleted. Enable this option in order to log when and who deleted a document.
2
Change the default option to "Document Only" on Import Wizard dialog when importing documents.
4
Change the default option to "Database" on Requirement Text Update dialog.
8
Disable the "Tracked-Changes" warning when saving a RequisitePro document in Microsoft Word that has tracked changes enabled.

You can enable one or multiple options.

To enable just one option, set the option that you want for the RqOptions string value. For example, to enable the feature to log when a document is deleted, the RqOptions string value should be set to 1.

To enable multiple options, add the options that you want to enable and set the RqOptions string value with the resulting sum. For example, to enable all options, the RqOptions string value should be set to 15, which is the sum of 1+2+4+8=15.

This change affects all Rational RequisitePro users in all projects working on the same computer.

Disabling the Project option

You can disable the Project option by removing the string value "RqOptions" or by setting it to 0.

Note
Options 2 and 4 are only available starting in version 7.1.4 and 7.1.3.7
Options 8 is only available starting in version 7.1.4.1 and 7.1.3.8
