Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to generate token license keys in the IBM Rational License Key Center for an IBM Rational FLEXlm license server result in permanent license keys appearing in the token license file.
Symptom
Steps to Reproduce:
- Select new token account in the Rational License Key Center
- Generate a token license key file
- Open the token license key file
- View the contents
Expected result: Only token license keys are generated in the file
Actual result: Token and permanent license keys were generated in the file
Cause
The hostname used to generate the token licenses has permanent license keys assigned on a previous License Key Center account.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the issue, the permanent licenses need to be returned by completing the following process:
- Log into the License Key Center
- Select the old License Key Center account
- Select "View and Return"
- Return all license keys associated with the server
- Select the new token License Key Center account
- Generate a new token license file for the server
