Cause

There are several possible causes for similar errors.

  • TIP: For more examples, see separate IBM Technote #1642447.

This Technote specifically relates to the scenario where the cause is an incorrect data source definition (in Controller Configuration) for the database connection.
  • For example, in one real-life case the entry included a slash (/): oracleservername/SID
    • This is incorrect. It should only be the SID.

Environment

Oracle Database

Resolving The Problem

Modify the data source connection (in Controller configuration) to use the correct nomenclature.

  • In one real-life case, the solution was to modify it to have only the Oracle SID (as defined in the Oracle tnsnames.ora file) and not "<servername>/SID"
