Migration of existing SAP connections for Information Server Pack for SAP Applications

Troubleshooting

Problem

After the user migrates (that is, moves) an existing SAP connection for Information Server Pack for SAP Applications from one DataStage server to another DataStage server, the user experiences problems when running jobs that utilize the IDoc Enterprise Connector stages.

Symptom

The user wants to migrate existing SAP connections to be used by Information Server Pack for SAP Applications from one DataStage server to another DataStage server.

The user copies the <information_server_install_dir>/Server/DSSAPConnections folder and all of its contents from the source DataStage server to the destination DataStage server.

When running IDoc Enterprise Connector jobs that utilize one of the migrated SAP connections, the user might experience problems related to IDoc configuration files that cannot be located, for example:

'The configuration file <configuration_file_path> could not be found on the server.'

Resolving The Problem

When migrating existing SAP connections from one DataStage server to another DataStage server, the user must ensure that DataStage server platforms are not mixed. This means that SAP connections originating from a Microsoft Windows based DataStage server are not to be used on UNIX based DataStage servers and vice versa.
