Troubleshooting
Problem
error: setup initialization error, setup is unable to find installation language in D:\edi\setup.lid (SCI93351)
Symptom
error: setup initialization error, setup is unable to find installation
language in D:\edi\setup.lid
error: error 105
Cause
When the standards are downloaded electronically, they are received as a zip
file. The name of the zip file will vary with the standards release. For
example, the October 2005 standards release had a zip file named
Standards32_1005_cd.zip. The zip file must be unzipped before any of the the
setup.exe files that it contains will work properly. The error came up because
a setup.exe file was double clicked before the zip file was unzipped.
Resolving The Problem
- Using Windows Explorer, double click on the standards zip file that was downloaded.
- Click Actions>Select All.
- Click Actions>Extract.
- Change the entry in the "Extract to" field to a working area outside of the Commerce Connection32 directory.
- Click the Extract button.
- Wait for the extraction to complete.
- Go to the directory that the zip file was unzipped to.
- Click the desired setup.exe file. For installation of standards, that will be the one in the i386 directory.
