Cause
Resolving The Problem
This error would occur typically when:
1) You do not use a weighing scale
with the manifest, but have a COM port for the weighing scale configured in the
regedit.
2) You do not print paperwork from the manifest, but have have a
printer port / printer specified in the regedit and the printer setup for
carrier in the configuration setup.
3) This can also occur if you have
attached a wrong device to a port. For e.g. if you specify COM1 is a weighing
scale port and instead attach a printer on this port, the manifest client will
not be able to read / send messages to this port properly.
So, if you
are not using weighing scale or printers from manifest station, remove all
references to printers and COM ports from the registry and printer settings in
the manifest client configuration.
