Question
How is Historical Data Collection (HDC) configured in ITM 6.3?
Cause
The HDC configuration process is very different in ITM 6.3 compared to earlier versions of ITM V6.
Answer
In ITM 6.3, the History Collection Configuration window has a different look and feel than it does in earlier versions of ITM V6. For one thing, you no longer explicitly start and stop historical data collection for the historical attribute groups. Another difference is that you need to explicitly distribute the historical data collection attribute groups to your managed systems.
See the attached document to configure historical data collection for your ITCAM for Transactions agents. Due to the number and size of the screenshots and tables in this technote, these instructions are attached as a PDF.
To view the PDF in your browser immediately, right-click the attachment. Select the command Open Link in New Window from the pop-up menu.
Use the following procedure to save the attachment on your workstation so you can review the instructions later:
1) Right-click the attachment.
2) From the pop-up menu, select the command Save Link As (Mozilla Firefox) or Save Target As (Internet Explorer).
3) In this File Save dialog, select the directory where you want to save the attachment on your workstation.
4) Select Adobe Acrobat Document in the Save as type entry if this document type is not selected by default.
5) Click Save.
Note: If you are unable to download the attachment using Internet Explorer, use Mozilla Firefox instead.
