Problem
Attempts to checkout a project in IBM Rational Synergy leads to the error 'Function dbcv_identify,Informix -25587 ISAM -22".
Symptom
The full error message is as follows:
Function dbcv_identify, Informix -25587, ISAM 22
Warning: Informix: Prepare statement failed or was not executed.
Cause
The error ‘-25587 - Network receive failed’ may occur if a system call has failed.
The error ‘22 - Invalid argument’ is usually seen when the DNS server is down or when there is a network glitch.
Resolving The Problem
For Error ‘-25587 - Network receive failed’:
- Perform a DISCONNECT and then check the status of the server. Effectively, for a while the Informix server could not be contacted and then the process hung.
- See the system administrator for assistance.
For Error ‘22 - Invalid argument’:
This an operating system error code with the meaning 'Invalid argument' was unexpectedly returned to the database server.
- Look for other operating system error messages for more information.
- Check the system logs located in /var/adm/messages on UNIX / Linux or event logs in Windows for additional information pertaining to this error.
- Contact your system or network administrator to correct this problem.
