Question

Is the IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) supported on 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems?

Cause


The IBM Rational ClearCase Information Center documentation for ClearCase 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 (located at the following link) provides incorrect information about CCRC support on 64-bit Microsoft Windows platforms.

The documentation incorrectly states:

"The Rational ClearCase remote client and other Eclipse-powered software is not supported on 64-bit Windows platforms"

Answer


As of ClearCase Remote Client 7.1.1 the ClearCase Remote Client is supported on 64-bit platforms that support installation of 32-bit applications.

ClearCase Remote Client is a 32-bit application and is not a native 64-bit application.

To determine specific platform support, refer to System Requirements for the ClearCase Remote Client.

Note: The incorrect statement has been removed from the 8.0 version of the ClearCase Information Center.
