Problem
When I try to install Clementine client version 12.xx the setup routine stops after launching the installer with the the following message: Error Message: Error 1330. A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file F:/Clementine/Common~.cab has an invalid digital signature. Clementine version 11.xx did not has this problem. What could be the reason for this problem?
Resolving The Problem
This problem seams to be Microsoft related due to extreme security policies.
According to the description attached "support-microsoft-com_dn1jgtkn.pdf"(this article can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798) there can be several reasons that leads different software installation problems . The article mentions several reasons for this behaviour but gives several advices and possible workarounds as well.
Although Clementine version 12.xx has a valid signature the installation fails on XP/Vista operating system where security related libraries are omitted.
The following workaround solves the signature problem:
Click Start, click Run, type Services.msc -s, and then click OK.
Scroll down to Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Verify that the Status is Started.
Verify that the Startup Type is Automatic.
For the following commands, click Start, click Run, type the command, and then click OK.
