ALM 1.1 package does not allow last category selection to category path

Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearQuest Web where the Category field in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) schema does not work properly.

Symptom

ClearQuest ALM package 1.1 does not allow last category selection to category path in ClearQuest Web. This is a behavior change in ALM 1.1.

Previously in ALM 1.0, all category information was included in the Category path and Category string.

In ALM 1.1, there is no error, but clicking the Drill into Category button does nothing. The "bottom most" category is not included in the path or string. This affects all records.

Resolving The Problem

This has been identified as a product defect under APAR PM34974. This issue has been fixed in package ALM 1.3. The Rational ClearQuest ALM package, Version 1.3 is available for download in download document 4028637.
