Recording against HTML applications on IE web browser with RFT results in no test object recorded

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to record against HTML applications on Internet Explorer (IE) 8.0 64-bit web browser with IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) version 8.2.0.1 results in no test object recorded.

Cause

IE Add-ons IERationalEnabler and (Oracle) Sun Java classes are not enabled for the browser.

Resolving The Problem

Ensure JRE version 1.6 with 64-bit is installed.

Ensure the following Add-ons are enabled for the web browser:

  • IERationalEnabler Class
  • SSVHelper Class
  • Java Plug-in 2 SSV Helper
  • Sun Java Console
