How do you reuse your IBM Rational TestManager projects in IBM Rational Robot?
Cause
You want to upgrade Rational Robot from version 7.0.2 to 7.0.3.4 or newer, because you migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7. The TestManager 7.0.2 projects do not run in stand-alone mode. Rational TestManager does not support Windows 7. On the other hand, Rational Robot versions 7.0.3 and newer no longer support Rational TestManager. Therefore you must run Robot in stand-alone mode in version 7.0.3.4 or newer. .
Answer
To migrate TestManager projects into Robot stand-alone projects, consider the following steps.
- Start Robot.
- Click Manage in the Select Project dialog.
- Right click Projects > Import Assets from TestManager Project.
- Follow the instructions in the next dialog boxes.
Notes:
- Rational Suite Project is the TestManager project. You need to point to a file with extension .rsp.
- If you have Robot stand-alone projects, you only need to reinstall Robot. Verify the environment variable %RATL_RTHOME% in v7.0.3. %RATL_RTHOME% in v7.0.3 differs from older versions.
- For support for Windows 7, update Robot to the latest version and fix.
