Question & Answer

Question

Difference in forcepurge behavior with IPIC protocol on TXSeries 7.1 Fixpack 2 and CICS TS

Answer

TXSeries for Multiplatforms V7.1 introduces a new function, which supports IP Interconnectivity over TCP/IP(IPIC over TCP/IP).
TXSeries regions can communicate with CICS TS regions or CICS Transaction Gateway clients or other TXSeries regions using this protocol.

When a mirror transaction gets forcepurged, CICS TS sends a DPL response to the partner system with an abend code.
TXSeries sends a conversation error, IS7, message to the partner system.

Note: A partner system could be a CICS Transaction Gateway client or a CICS TS region or another TXSeries region.

This is effective for all releases after Fix Pac 2.
