Exception occurs when referencing fields on records that are hidden by security context

Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearQuest Web. You receive an exception error when trying to reference a record in a schema with security context enabled.

Symptom

The form of Record A includes a field on Record B. Record B is controlled by a security context. If you try to access the form on Record A, and the security context disallows this access, then an exception error similar to this occurs:

CRVSV0134E The value for property 'Project' is not in this proxy; it has not been set by the client nor requested from the server.

Cause

This issue was identified as a product defect under APAR PM08547.

Resolving The Problem

This defect is fixed starting in versions 7.1.1.3 and 7.1.2. Upgrade to the latest version to resolve this problem.
