Question
How can you lock an entire stream in IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), so that no changes can be made to any of the artifacts in this stream?
Cause
There are situations when you want to prevent any further changes to the artifacts within a stream.
Answer
Move the stream to a team area where no one has delivery permission by setting the Owned By field to this team. Nobody will then have rights to make changes.
To unlock the stream:
- Move it back to the original team area
OR - Set the suitable permissions to the current team area
NOTE: Since version 6.0.2 there is out of the box option to lock the stream. You can find more details in Locking streams and components document
