Troubleshooting
Problem
Service fails to start when applying or starting the services in Cognos Configuration. Error message appears while trying to start service.
Symptom
CFG-ERR-0106 Cognos Configuration did not receive a response from the Cognos 8 service in the time allotted.
Check that Cognos 8 service is available and properly configured.
Resolving The Problem
Ensure that you are using a JRE version supported by Cognos.
Steps:
- Check the cbs_run.log to see if there are indications that Cognos 8 is pointing to an unsupported JRE version.
- Remove the JAVA_HOME variable so that by default Cognos 8 would point to the JRE shipped with the product.
