This technote describes an error that can occur when the ITDS server tries to start DB2 on AIX after a DB2 fixpack install, and how to resolve it.
Cause
Failure to run the documented post-install steps after the DB2 fixpack install.
Answer
The following error may occur when the ITDS server attempts to start up DB2 after a DB2 fixpack has been applied:
Could not load program db2star2:
Symbol resolution failed for db2star2 because:
Symbol sqloReadLatchMapConfig (number 101) is not exported from dependent
module /home/ldapdb16/idsslapd-ldapdb16/db2instance/lib/libdb2e.a[shr_64.o].
Examine .loader section symbols with the 'dump -Tv' command.
GLPRDB001E Error code -1 from function:" SQLConnect " ldapdb2b .

GLPRDB004E The LDAP directory server is unable to connect to the database.
GLPSRV064E Failed to initialize be_config.
GLPSRV040E Error encountered. Server starting in configuration only mode.
A similar error will occur if starting DB2 independently of ibmslapd using the db2start command provided by DB2.
This error may happen if the db2iupdt command is not run after a DB2 fixpack is installed. Please see the DB2 fixpack installation instructions for the post-install steps. Alternatively, see the following technote which links to the post-install steps:
