Question

This technote explains why after installing IBM® Rational® Application Developer, the message "License key check failed: Model2 Base does not have a valid license key to run" is displayed; however, the installation, according to the Installation Manager, appears to be fine, and has a permanent license.

Cause

The major known cause for the above symptom is a LUM library bug that is resolved with Rational Application Developer version 7.0.0.3 and later.

Note: This problem only occurs on particular operating system and hardware combinations.

Answer

Update to version 7.0.0.3 or later.
