Troubleshooting
Problem
If you are migrating a Web Project to IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software version 7, you might see a warning under the Web Content folder on the JavaServer Pages (JSP) indicating a broken link.
Cause
This is a known defect tracked as APAR PK40306 in Rational Application Developer version 7.0.
Resolving The Problem
This issue has been resolved in version 7.0.0.3 and later.
WORKAROUND:
You can compile your project such that you will not encounter the broken link warning message by performing the following steps:
- Switch to the Project Explorer view
- Right-click the Web Project with the broken link warning
- Select Properties
- Select Web Project Settings
- Remove the back slash (/) from the Context Root. For example, if the Context Root you have listed is: "/test", modify it to "test" (removing the back slash)
- Select Apply
- Select OK
- Next, clean and rebuild the project and the warning message is removed from the Problems view:
- To clean the project from the main menu: Project > Clean...
- To build the project from the main menu: Project > Build All
Note: If Build All is disabled, you should see a check mark next to Build Automatically. Select Build Automatically, and this should remove the check mark and enable the Build All option.
