This technote provides a matrix of supported operating systems, software versions and supported databases for supported 2003 releases of IBM Rational Rose, and the hardware required to run the product on either a Microsoft Windows platform, or on a UNIX or Linux operating system.

- Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 or higher (Rose Enterprise or Rose Data Modeler).
- Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.5 and 6.0 are recommended for viewing Rational Rose web-published models.
- Microsoft Visual C++/Studio versions 6.0 or 8.0 (Rose VC++)
- Microsoft Visual C++/Studio version 6.0 (Rose Visual Basic)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.x or higher to view Rose documentation.
- JDK 1.1.6 or higher (Rose Enterprise or Rose Professional Java).
