IBM Support

WSDIR parameter on CEDA DEFINE PIPELINE will not accept data

Troubleshooting

Problem

You are running CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3 and are trying to define a PIPELINE. You enter CEDA DEF PIPE(EXPIPE04) GROUP(PIPE) at a terminal. The CEDA panel that displays does not allow you to update the WSDIR field. Instead of the usual arrow (==>) after the field name, you see a colon ( :).

Symptom

Here is how the CEDA define screen appears:

You were able to define the pipeline using the DFHCSDUP utility, but after doing so, you cannot update the WSDIR field. The DjarDir parameter on the define CORBASERVER also behaves the same way.

Cause

The WSDIR parameter is up to 255 characters long. This makes it too large to fit completely on the first page of the CEDA panel.

Resolving The Problem

If you scroll forward a half screen using the PF8 key, you will see the whole entry field and be able to type information into the Wsdir field.
