Troubleshooting
Problem
MustGather for problems with the WebSphere Application Server z/OS administrative console. Gathering the information before calling IBM support helps familiarize you with the troubleshooting process and saves you time.
Resolving The Problem

Administrative Console specific MustGather information for WebSphere Application Server (all releases):
If you experience problems using the administrative console, follow the steps below to gather the correct documentation to send to IBM.
1. To enable the trace in a Base installation:
- a. Turn on tracing using the following two TSO Modify commands if security is NOT enabled:
- F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.sm.*=all:Webui=all'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.management.*=all=enabled'
- The JOBNAME should be the jobname of the server running the administrative console
- b. If security is enabled use the following TSO Modify commands:
- F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.sm.*=all:Webui=all'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.management.*=all=enabled'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='SASRas=all:com.ibm.ws.security.*=all'
c. Enter: F JOBNAME,TRACEINIT to reset tracing to the trace values when the server started.
- d. Send the joblogs of the server region and control region following the instructions in this link: Submitting Diagnostic Information to IBM
2. To enable the trace for console in a Network Deployment installation:
a. Turn on tracing using the following two MVS Modify commands if security is NOT enabled:
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.sm.*=all:Webui=all'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.management.*=all=enabled'
where JOBNAME is the control region name; the servants are updated automatically.
The JOBNAME should be the jobname of the server running the administrative console.
b. If security is enabled use the following MVS Modify commands:
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.sm.*=all:Webui=all'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='com.ibm.ws.management.*=all=enabled'
F JOBNAME,tracejava='SASRas=all:com.ibm.ws.security.*=all'
c. Enter: F JOBNAME,traceinit to reset tracing to the trace values when the server started.
- d. Send the joblogs of the Servant and Control region following the instructions in this link: Submitting Diagnostic Information to IBM
