Question & Answer
Question
The fenced user ID must have at least read access for all Net Search Extender index files.
Answer
If you decide to have a different user ID from the DB2 instance owner to run the stored procedures and UDFs (determined by the ownership of the file ~/sqllib/adm/.fenced), you need to ensure that the fenced user has read access to all files in the index directory. To do this, correctly assign group membership and file permissions.
Note that the entire directory path to the index files must be read accessible to this user.
