Trying to access the virtual directory through the address bar in the browser will cause the above error to occur.

Example: http://iis_server/ccase

Resolving The Problem

First check to ensure that the ClearCase Virtual Directory has been set up correctly by reading the steps in the ClearCase Administration manual.

Once confident that the Web Server has been properly configured, check to see what address is being typed into the browser window to access the Web Interface.

Access the ClearCase Web Interface by typing the path to the ccweb.exe in the browser window.

Example: http://iis_server/ccase/bin/ccweb.exe

OR

Create a link on some web page pointing to this path to log into the ClearCase Web Interface.
