Error description

  • SmartCloud Cost Management v2.1.0.5 integration with ICO 2.5
FP1, the Subscription REST API (PUT) does not work.
    The standard configuration script calls
    <SCCM_HOME>/bin/postconfig/configure_ico_offerings.sh, which
executes curl to call the Subscription PUT REST API - yet doing
so does not update the database with desired rate values.
    1) The default script as shipped specifies "curl --stderr
    /dev/null"
which hides all the error msgs.
    2) By changing to use instead "curl -v" better messages
    actually show up.
The WLP SCCM log file shows for each Subscription PUT request:
    [4/21/16 16:10:36:061 CEST] 000000aa
    com.ibm.ws.channel.ssl.internal.
SSLHandshakeErrorTracker E CWWKO0801E: Unable to initialize
    SSL connection. Unauthorized access
was denied or security settings have expired. Exception is
    javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Client requested protocol
TLSv1 not enabled or not supported
    3) Specifying "--tlsv1.2" on the curl command causes the
request to "succeed" yet the rate values in the subscription
.json file(s) do not actually get loaded into the database -
all rate values in the db are still set to zero.

Local fix

  • Specifying "--tlsv1.2" on the curl command causes the request to
"succeed" yet the rate values in the subscription .json file(s)
do not actually get loaded into the database - all rate values
in the db are still set to zero.
An SCCM IFIX is necessary to correct the SCCM subscription
    issue.

Problem summary

  • SCCM subscription put rest api does not put any updated rate
    value into database

Problem conclusion

  • A formal fix is provided to client.

Temporary fix
