Error description

  • Add the following to the infocenter:

ICO 2.4.02 Installed using a non-root userid. 2 VMware Region
    Servers
    on Redhat 6.5.
I have installed ICO as a non-root user following this link :

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS4KMC_2.4.0.2/com
    .ibm.
    sco.doc_2.4/t_inst_deployment_service.html?lang=en

The install had images hardened to a customers standards. These
standards have a umask of 0077 set in ~./bashrc. This causes the
install to fail as this is passed to the root id when creating
directories in the /tmp folder which have permissions of 700,
    thus the
non-root user is unable to access the directory. I changed the
    umask
for the non-root user to 0022 and the install completed without
    a
    problem.

Local fix

  • no workaround
